Qiqihar University
is the solely comprehensive university governed by
Heilongjiang province in the northeast part of
China. The university has a total enrollment of more
than 22,000 full-time undergraduate, graduate and
international students. Its full-time faculty is
made up of 1259 tenure-track professors, including
26 academic staffs from overseas.

research cooperation with Colleges and universities worldwide
in British, U.S, Canada, Australia, Japan, Korea, Russia
etc. For active academic and research, the University
founded a research and development center in
Beijing Economic and Development
Area (BDA).

Art College of Qiqihar University
The Art College is absolutely a college of artists
and art educational experts with large amount of
academic and culture cooperation and educational
and cultural exchange with universities international
wide. Among the faculties, there are youth musical
conductors who won international and national gold
medals, singers who won China National Television
Cup Singer Competitions, famous painters of national
and international wide, traditional musician and
artists, costume designers etc. The Qiqihar University
Student Symphony Orchestra earned high reputations
national wide. The orchestra has performed hundreds
of high-quality classical performances, and was
highly awarded for its successful performance in
closing ceremony of the 4th China Special Olympic
Games.
It is worthwhile to mention that for Beijing 2008
Olympic Torch Chief designer, Yingjia Yao, Executive
Director, Lenovo Innovation Design Center in Beijing,
was a 1996 graduate from Art College of Qiqihar
University. The design "Cloud of Promise" was chosen
over 300 competitor themes and will be carried by
torchbearers around the world in the Olympic Torch
Relay preceding the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

College of International
Relations
The College of International Relations has a group of faculties
experienced in teaching Chinese as a second language
(TCSL). Since 1990, more than 800 international degree-seeking
and exchange students from countries British, the United
States, Russia, Korea, Japan, Spain, Austria etc., received
their education educated in the college.
Located in Heilongjiang, where the most standard Mandarin
over China is spoken, the university was bestowed with
an absolute advantage in teaching Chinese, and national-wide
TV stations and Radio stations come to the university
every year to select announcers and moderator.
By cooperation with Qiqihar University, our goal is
to make the participating students in our program learn
to speak the most standard Mandarin in China.
